- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare strawberries by macerating with ¼ cup sugar for 30 minutes
- Blend strawberries with remaining ingredients until smooth
- Chill mixture for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight)
- Fold in reserved strawberry chunks before churning
- Churn in ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions
- Transfer to airtight container and freeze for 4+ hours
Notes
- For seedless ice cream, strain mixture before chilling
- Press plastic wrap directly on surface before freezing to prevent ice crystals
- Let sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before serving if too hard
- Try variations like adding cream cheese or chocolate swirls
