  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 Hello Kitty Cake 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pink frosting
  • Black decorating gel
  • Yellow fondant or candy for the nose

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Mix in milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Divide batter evenly and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
  3. Once completely cool, level the cakes if needed. Place one cake on a cutting board and cut a semi-circular shape from the top to create Hello Kitty’s head. Use the cut-off piece to create the bow.
  4. Frost the entire cake with pink frosting. Use black decorating gel for the eyes and whiskers. Attach the yellow fondant or candy nose. If you cut out a bow, frost it pink and attach it to the top of Hello Kitty’s head.

Notes

  • Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing.
  • Don’t overbake the cakes to keep them moist.
  • Use a serrated knife for clean cuts when shaping the cake.
  • Chill the cake slightly before frosting for easier handling.
