Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pink frosting
- Black decorating gel
- Yellow fondant or candy for the nose
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Mix in milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Divide batter evenly and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
- Once completely cool, level the cakes if needed. Place one cake on a cutting board and cut a semi-circular shape from the top to create Hello Kitty’s head. Use the cut-off piece to create the bow.
- Frost the entire cake with pink frosting. Use black decorating gel for the eyes and whiskers. Attach the yellow fondant or candy nose. If you cut out a bow, frost it pink and attach it to the top of Hello Kitty’s head.
Notes
- Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing.
- Don’t overbake the cakes to keep them moist.
- Use a serrated knife for clean cuts when shaping the cake.
- Chill the cake slightly before frosting for easier handling.
