Description

This easy spinach quiche recipe is a simple and delicious way to enjoy a healthy meal any time of day. Packed with fresh spinach, feta cheese, and a creamy egg custard, it’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. Using a pre-made crust makes preparation a breeze!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 10 ounces fresh spinach, washed and chopped
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (or cream for a richer taste)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic (if using) and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the chopped spinach and cook until it wilts, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. In a bowl, combine the cooked spinach and feta cheese.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk (or cream), salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Place the pre-made pie crust on a baking sheet. Spread the spinach and feta mixture evenly over the bottom of the crust.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the spinach and feta filling. Make sure the filling is evenly distributed. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the crust is golden brown. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, pre-bake it for 10 minutes before adding the filling.
  • Don’t overcook the quiche, or it can become rubbery. Keep an eye on it and remove it from the oven when it’s just set.
  • Allowing the quiche to cool slightly helps it set and makes it easier to slice.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers to the spinach mixture for extra flavor.
  • Use different cheeses like Gruyere, cheddar, or goat cheese for a unique taste.
  • Include cooked bacon, ham, or sausage for a meaty twist.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
