Instructions
- Prepare the Cake Batter: Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. In a large mixing bowl, combine white cake mix, cotton candy flavored syrup, vegetable oil, eggs, and milk. If desired, divide batter and add pink and blue food coloring to separate bowls.
- Mix the Batter Well: Using an electric mixer, beat ingredients on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to medium speed and beat for 2 minutes until smooth.
- Bake the Cake Layers: Divide batter evenly between prepared pans, alternating pink and blue batter for a marbled effect, if colored. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Prepare the Frosting and Decorate: While cakes cool, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, alternating with cotton candy flavored syrup, until light and fluffy. Add milk until desired consistency is reached. Level cooled cakes, frost one layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the entire cake. Decorate with sprinkles or edible glitter.
