- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups mixed bell peppers, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Pita bread for serving
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent and fragrant, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and cumin.
- Add sliced bell peppers to the beef mixture. Stir well and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes or until the peppers are tender but still crisp.
- Plate the stir fry, topping with crumbled feta cheese and fresh parsley. Serve with warm pita bread on the side.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This dish can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
- For a lighter option, ground turkey can be used instead of beef.
- Customize the dish by adding olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or artichokes for enhanced flavors.
