- 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening or coconut oil

Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix peanut butter, softened butter, and vanilla until smooth
- Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing thoroughly until thick and moldable
- Form mixture into 1-inch balls and chill for 30 minutes
- Melt chocolate chips with shortening using a double boiler or microwave
- Dip chilled peanut butter balls in melted chocolate, coating completely
- Place on parchment paper and decorate if desired
- Let set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm (about 1 hour)
Notes
- For smoother centers, sift powdered sugar before mixing
- Use high-quality chocolate for best results
- Add a teaspoon of milk if mixture is too dry
- Work quickly when dipping to prevent softening
