Description

This Ooey-Gooey Lemon Monkey Bread recipe is a delightful twist on the classic pull-apart bread, infusing it with bright, citrusy lemon flavors. Perfect for brunch, dessert, or a sweet snack, this lemon monkey bread is easy to make and guaranteed to impress. Enjoy the combination of soft, doughy biscuit pieces, a luscious lemon-butter sauce, and a sticky-sweet glaze!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (16 ounces each) refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a bundt pan thoroughly. Cut each biscuit into quarters.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Add the biscuit pieces to the bowl with the lemon-butter mixture. Toss to ensure each piece is thoroughly coated.
  4. Arrange coated biscuit pieces evenly in the prepared bundt pan. Pour any remaining lemon-butter mixture over the top.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
  6. While cooling, whisk together powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until smooth for the lemon glaze.
  7. Drizzle the lemon glaze over the warm monkey bread. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for added texture and flavor.
  • Try using lime or orange zest and juice for a different citrus twist.
  • Substitute some of the milk in the glaze with cream cheese for a richer flavor.
  • Assemble the monkey bread ahead of time and refrigerate overnight, then bake before serving.
