Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) beef steak (sirloin or flank), sliced thinly
- 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Optional: cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the bell peppers and onion by slicing them into thin strips for even cooking.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then sear the sliced beef for about 3-5 minutes until browned.
- Remove the beef from the skillet and sauté the sliced bell peppers, onions, and minced garlic in the same skillet until softened (about 4-5 minutes).
- Return the beef to the skillet, adding soy sauce and cornstarch. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is well combined.
Notes
- For a twist, add other vegetables like mushrooms or snap peas.
- Serve the dish over fluffy rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or frozen for a month.
