Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika. Thinly slice potatoes and mix cream, broth, garlic, and thyme in a bowl.
- Sear pork chops in olive oil and butter for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown, then set aside.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Layer half the potatoes in a greased baking dish, pour half the cream mixture, and sprinkle half the cheese. Repeat layers.
- Place seared pork chops on top, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15-20 more minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Use bone-in pork chops for extra flavor and juiciness.
- Slice potatoes evenly for consistent cooking.
- Let pork chops rest after searing to retain juices.
- Broil the last 2-3 minutes for a crispier top.
