- 1/2 cup wild blueberries
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the blueberries by washing them thoroughly and placing them in a small saucepan over low heat with a tablespoon of sugar. Stir until they release their juices and let cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, remaining sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in the cooled blueberries.
- Mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl. Create a well and add warmed milk, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a sticky dough forms, then knead for 5-7 minutes.
- Divide the dough, roll each piece into a circle, add filling to the center, pinch edges to seal, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Bake buns for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Store leftover buns in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for a week.
- Freeze buns for up to 3 months and reheat in oven when ready to enjoy.
- For serving, dust with powdered sugar and pair with coffee or tea.
